Moon Gods & Sun Slips

I am still writing, yes
   Sunsets will never tire
my time and your time, taken
piece by piece from the days we serve
   On fire and under stars
  between voices familial and strange
gathering round flame.

I am still writing
In folds of noon where the moon god discovered us
a day’s worth of skin shade on our face
We could only grin, only rest
only pull ourselves from the water
reach for a glass, toast to the season
and the lengthening of days.
