Summer sins are
left bare
to remind us
in colder months
that winter's
not so long
or unbearable
as some may seem.

Summer songs
and memoirs
agitate the past.
Aromas gather, creep
slip through
and take back
to tall grass
brushed passed
escaped hastily
and whipped skin
softly so
as kisses gentle slow;
summer lips.

peeled back from longer days.
We wear it, swear it
twist left and right
the threads that bind
till bare, set free
allowed breath for
expression create.
We sweat and yearn
parch in heat.
